What SoFi publishes

Updated October 13, 2026 · Merchant Fund Express

SoFi runs two different things for business owners, and they are easy to confuse. As of October 2026:

Its own installment loan from SoFi Bank, N.A., launched June 30, 2026, for $2,500 to $250,000 with terms of 6 to 24 months.
Its launch announcement says there is no application fee, no origination fee and no prepayment penalty.
It advertises funding as soon as 24 hours after approval, subject to conditions.
Its FAQ describes security in business assets and a personal guarantee.
A SoFi support article lists at least three months of business checking history and $50,000 in annual business revenue.
A separate marketplace of other providers, where amounts and terms depend on the provider, not on the direct loan limits.

Check SoFi directly for current terms, because product details change.

When SoFi likely fits better

Smaller, simple need

A request under $250,000 that a fixed installment over 6 to 24 months handles well.

Lowest cost if you qualify

An installment loan with no origination fee is usually cheaper than revenue-based financing for a file that qualifies.

No existing positions

A clean file with no advances open fits a conventional installment structure.

You already bank with SoFi

An existing relationship can make the process simpler.

When another path fits better

More than $250,000

Funding with us runs up to $5,000,000 for files whose deposits support it.

A position already open

Our revenue-based tier allows up to two current advances, and balances of $100,000 or less can often be bought out.

Credit in the 500s

We consider FICO from 500. Revenue and bank activity carry more of the decision.

Payments tied to sales

Revenue-based options can follow sales more closely than a fixed installment.

How to compare two offers fairly

If you have an offer from each, line them up on the same rows: amount received after any fees, total repaid, payment size and frequency, number of payments, what early payoff saves, and whether a personal guarantee or lien applies. A fixed-installment loan and a revenue-based advance can both be the right answer, for different files.
