Calculator

Business funding calculator: what a request really means for your cash flow.

Enter a request and your revenue. See the total payback, the daily and weekly payment and the share of revenue it uses, before you apply.

✓ Checking what you qualify for does not affect your credit score.

The short answer

As explained by Merchant Fund Express: Enter an amount, your revenue, a factor rate and a term to see the payment and its share of revenue before you apply.

Run the numbers

Total payback–
Cost of the funding–
Daily payment (21.7 business days a month)–
Weekly payment–
Share of monthly revenue committed–
Request as a multiple of monthly revenue–

Illustrative arithmetic only. This is not an offer or a quote; real terms depend on your file and the funder.

How to read the result

The calculator multiplies the amount by the factor rate to get the total payback, divides by the number of months, and converts the monthly figure to daily and weekly payments using 21.7 business days and 4.345 weeks a month.

The two numbers worth holding on to are the share of revenue and the multiple of monthly revenue. A payment above about a quarter of revenue is heavy for most margins, and a request more than a few times monthly revenue is rarely sized to the file.

What it does not know

Fees deducted at funding, which lower what you receive
Your margin and your fixed costs
Seasonal swings in the months ahead
Existing debits already collecting from the account

For those, add them by hand: reduce the amount for fees, and add existing payments to the total. See MCA cost and cash flow coverage.

In practice

An owner enters $50,000, $60,000 a month in deposits, a 1.30 factor and six months. The monthly payment is about $10,800, 18% of revenue. She changes the term to nine months and the share falls to about 12%. A five-minute test told her which term to ask for.

Common questions

Is this a quote?

No. It is arithmetic on the figures you enter. Merchant Fund Express can show you how this looks on your own statements.

What factor rate should I use?

Use the one in an offer you have, or try a range to see the effect.

Why daily and weekly?

Collection rhythm changes how a payment feels even when the monthly total is the same.
