Before install day

At Merchant Fund Express, we set up Clover for launch checklist for a chinese restaurant: the right devices, the features that matter in your workflow and on-site training for your staff.

Confirm where the Station Duo will sit and where power and the connection come from.
Tell your team the date so nobody learns the system on a live service.
List every printer, drawer and scanner the setup needs.
Pick the day and time of install so it does not collide with a delivery or a rush.
Decide who gets which login and who can refund or discount.

On install day

A Station Duo at the counter for walk-in and phone orders, a printer in the kitchen, and Flex handhelds for drivers.

Printers and drawers are fired off to confirm they work together.
Items, prices and modifiers are built with you in the room.

Your first service

Takeout drives much of the volume, with a phone ringing constantly and delivery drivers waiting by the counter, alongside dine-in family tables on weekends.

Ask the first ten customers if anything about checkout confused them.
Write down anything that felt slow so it can be fixed the same day.
Keep the support number on a card by the register.

The first week

Writing phone orders on paper and re-keying later causes errors; enter them directly into the register as you speak.

Check deposits against your batch reports.
Decide whether a second device would remove a bottleneck you saw.
Tell us what your staff keep asking about so we can add training.

What your first day usually looks like

Open

prep for the lunch specials and the dinner menu is staged, and the phone is answered.

Lunch

specials with a set side are rung as combos.

Evening

phone, walk-in and delivery orders arrive together, and tickets go to the wok line.

Close

delivery cash is reconciled and the day's sales are checked against tickets.

Roles and permissions to set on day one

Phone staff, wok cooks and drivers. A handheld for drivers collects payment at the door.

The situation to prepare for

Phone orders for pickup are paid at the counter; record the order name and number so the right bag goes to the right person.

How the catalog should be organized

Menus are long with numbered items and choices like rice type and spice level. Use numbered item names that match the printed menu so phone orders are fast.

Chinese restaurants often carry the longest menus in town, so the first job is naming: numbered items that match the printed menu and a short list of combination plates keep phone orders fast. A separate view for delivery and pickup, with customer name and number on every ticket, prevents the missed-bag problems that cost repeat business.

Why work with us

Merchant Fund Express is the team behind your terminal: we install on site, train your staff and answer the phone after launch. When you want funding or equipment financing, it is available from the same company.

Common questions

Can drivers take payment at the door?

Yes. A Flex with cellular connectivity lets drivers collect payment and tip at the customer's door.

Can I take card details over the phone?

The virtual terminal lets you take a card number over the phone securely instead of writing it down.

What if I am already under a processing contract?

At Merchant Fund Express, tell us the term and the equipment arrangement. We will explain what switching would involve and tell you honestly if waiting makes more sense.

What will this cost me?

There is no price list on purpose. Your quote is built from your monthly card sales, your average ticket and the devices you need, so call (305) 384-8391 and we will price your actual setup.

Can I use numbered items?

Yes. Item names and numbers can match your printed menu.
