The core list
Three to four months of complete business bank statements — every page, including blank ones
A government-issued photo ID for each owner with 20% or more
A voided business check or a bank letter confirming the account
Your EIN and the legal entity name exactly as registered
Disclosure of any open advances, loans or positions
Why each one is asked for
| Document | What it proves |
|---|---|
| Bank statements | Real deposit volume and consistency — this is what the offer is sized against |
| Photo ID | Identity and ownership percentage |
| Voided check | That funds land in the business account, not a personal one |
| EIN and legal name | That the entity matches the bank account and filings |
| Existing positions | How much of your daily deposits are already committed |
What stalls files
Almost every delay traces to one of four things, and all four are avoidable.
Missing pages. A statement with pages 3 and 4 absent goes back for a resend.
Phone photos instead of the PDF from your bank portal.
A legal name on the application that does not match the bank account.
An undisclosed position found in underwriting rather than declared at the start.
What you will not be asked for
No tax returns, no financial statements, no projections and no business plan. Those belong to bank and SBA applications. Funding underwritten on deposits does not need them, which is why it moves in hours rather than weeks.
Common questions
How many months of statements?
Three to four consecutive months, complete, downloaded as PDFs from your bank.
Do I need tax returns?
Not for deposit-underwritten funding. Larger or longer-term requests can ask for more.
What if I have more than one business account?
Send statements for the account where revenue actually lands, and say if deposits are split across accounts.
Does applying affect my credit?
No. Checking what you qualify for does not affect your personal credit score.
